![]() Yes, RM does a lot of things for you, but at the end of the day, spending your money on better assets is a wiser choice than trying to force RM to do what you want it to do. If you're thinking about coding in Javascript, I have to wonder why you don't just use Unity or Unreal and code in C++ instead. The community is expected to fill in the gaps in the RTP, and when it comes to music and sound effects, you should provide your own since what's in the box is pretty bad. It's a perfectly acceptable system for pixel artists, but you'll need to be one if you want a character to ever sit down, for instance. MZ still has bugs and jank and you'll still be disappointed in what it doesn't do and doesn't include. But you can no longer copy and paste from the help section in plugin manager, making all other instances of using a plugin (like note tags) much much more difficult. Instead of having to input code from the plugin into an event's "plugin command," you now can select it from a drop-down box and it has all the options right there. And while there are QoL improvements, some of those improvements introduce problems of their own. There are certainly many quality of life improvements, but at the same time, so many of the plugins are now paid instead of free. ![]() If you don't have MV, and you really want to keep using RM, then yes. If I were to actually dig deeper into the bonus content that comes in the DLC folder, and also consider the character generator, then I think it would probably be even more in MZ's favor. But tile sheets and enemies are actually kinda important. ![]() Like, do people *really* care about Titles2? I personally don't. So for a few categories, the difference can actually be pretty significant, even if the number itself is small-this is especially true for the tile sheets.Īs you can see, MZ is actually the clear winner-especially for the things that I think tend to matter more to people. For example, on "Faces", when I say there's a difference of 3, it actually means that there is a difference of 24 Faces (since there are 8 Faces in each of the 3 files).
